The Spey foundation is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Working with Rivers intern this year to protect and restore Scotland’s freshwater species and habitats. The intern position will work alongside professionals to contribute to projects designed to deliver vital habitat improvement and restoration works. We are grateful to SSEN for funding this internship position.

This internship has been created to offer a development opportunity for people who are new to the conservation sector and will pay a fair living wage at £13.45 an hour, paid monthly. We are looking for an individual who is just staring their career in conservation and is eager to learn about a wide array of aspects of conservation on the Spey. Please read the job description here. All applicants must have right to work in the UK (e.g. UK/Irish citizen, or indefinite leave to remain). Your right to work must be verified before the internship can commence.

Send a CV and covering letter to [email protected] by Thursday the 19th of March 2026 to apply. Please specify that you wish to apply to the Spey as your work location! We wish you the very best of luck with your application.
